44-year-old Chusovitina will continue to prepare for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics

On March 24, the International Olympic Committee and the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee issued a joint statement that the Tokyo Olympics were postponed until July 2021. The gymnastics legendary mother Chusovitina, who has won the Tokyo Olympics entry, said publicly: she will continue to struggle for a season to participate in the Tokyo Olympics to be held in 2021.

What are Chusovitina achievements?

- Participated in gymnastics training at the age of 7 and won 7 medals in the World Championship 6 times:

- In 1991, on behalf of the CIS, she won the World Championship women’s team, floor exercise gold medal, and vault silver medal; Bronze medals for vaulting horses in the 1992, 1993 and 2002 World Championships;

- 2001 World Championships vault silver medal;

- 2003 World Championships vaulting champion;

- Silver medal for women’s vaulting in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games;

- Six times participated in the Olympic Games, the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games won the team gold medal on behalf of the CIS.

- Participated in the Asian Games three times, on behalf of Uzbekistan in 2002 won the vault and floor exercise champion, balance beam runner-up, 1994 won the third place in vault and balance beam.

- Eponymous skills of International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) name after Chusovitina, including vaulting horses and uneven bar.

All of these are miracles, and behind these miracles, there is a touching story of a great mother who has no regrets for her love: everything is for the son with leukemia.
